Car photos before and after: 8 cars from the lot to a studio booth
A gallery of real before and after car photos. Each car started as an ordinary lot or roadside shot and finished in a clean studio booth, with the paint, the shape and every mark unchanged.
What you are looking at
Every car in this gallery began as an ordinary photo: a showroom floor, a country lane, a wet road, a car park. Each was run through Carzbooth, which separates the car from whatever was around it, clears the reflections off the paint and glass, and rebuilds the scene as a studio booth with a floor and a soft reflection. The pictures below are the finished versions. The description of each starting photo is underneath.
In all of them the car itself has not been changed. Colour, shape, wheels and every mark are as they were. Only the room is different.
Red crossover: from a showroom full of balloons
The original was shot inside a dealership showroom, with balloons hanging above the car, glass behind it and a showroom floor all around. A good photo of a good car, but busy. In the booth the car has the whole frame to itself and the red paint is the first thing you see.
Blue saloon: from a forecourt in front of a glass showroom
Here the car stood on a forecourt with other cars and a glass-fronted building behind it. The blue is vivid, but the surroundings pull the eye away. In the booth the car sits on a soft reflective floor and the colour is the focus.
Red cabriolet: from a country lane
A soft-top parked on a country road beside a fence, with trees in the background and grass at the verge. Lovely scenery, but the hedge and trees are mirrored across the bonnet and the windscreen. In the booth the paint reads clean and the roof line is clear.
Yellow sports coupe: from a woodland car park
Yellow is one of the hardest colours to place against green. In the original, the trees pick up a green cast along the flanks and the car competes with the foliage. In the booth the yellow looks like itself and the shape of the car stands out against a neutral wall.
Red hot hatch: from a wet road under bare trees
A grey, damp day with a wet road and bare branches behind the car. Nothing wrong with the car, but the weather lowers the whole mood. The booth gives it the same bright, even light as the rest of the lot.
Black cabriolet: from among the hedges
Dark paint reflects everything around it, and here that meant hedge and sky across the bonnet and doors. In the booth the reflections are gone, the grille and wheels have definition, and the roof lines read cleanly.
Grey city car: from a street beside a building
A small car parked on a street with a building behind it. Small cars can look lost in a busy scene. In the booth the car fills the frame and the badge, grille and lights are easy to read.
Red compact SUV: from beside a row of pine trees
Shot in a car park with pines and tarmac behind it. The booth removes the trees and the lot markings and leaves the car, the wheels and the two-tone roof.
Want to see your own cars like this?
The quickest way to judge the result is on your own stock. Send three to five photos from your lot and we will send them back in the booth, so you can compare each one against the original. You can also look at how a studio background compares with a lot photo and why we never retouch the car itself.
